Pre-Treatment
Blood Thinning Agents: Discontinue use of blood thinning agents such as vitamin E, vitamin A, Ginko, Garlic, Flax, Cod Liver Oil, Essential Fatty Acids, and multivitamins at least 7 days before treatment. DO NOT discontinue prescribed Aspirin, Plavix, Eliquis etc without speaking with your Physician.
Medications: Avoid aspirin, Advil, Motrin, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Voltaren, and other anti-inflammatory medications. Tylenol (acetaminophen) may be used if needed.
Alcohol & Smoking: Minimize or avoid alcohol consumption and smoking for 3 days before treatment as they can impact the healing process.
Sun Exposure: Avoid excessive sun or heat exposure.
Hair Treatments: It is okay to color your hair up to 7 days before the procedure.
Hydration: Increase your intake of fluids the day before the procedure.
Day of Procedure
Shower: Shower and wash your hair thoroughly using your regular shampoo on the morning of your treatment.
Diet: Eat a normal breakfast or lunch. There are no dietary restrictions.
Post-Treatment
Shampooing: Do not wash your hair or use direct shower pressure on the scalp for 24 hours after treatment. After 24 hours, you may gently wash your hair for the first 72 hours.
Touching: Do not touch the injection sites for 3 days.
Headwear: Do not wear hats, headbands, or ponytails for 3 days.
Swimming & Exercise: Do not swim or undertake any strenuous exercise for 3 days.
Supplements: Do not use blood thinning agents for at least 2 days after your treatment.
Smoking & Alcohol: Avoid smoking for 3 days and there are no limitations on alcohol use from the perspective of the PRP procedure during the post-procedure period.
